Workshop Overview
Total Immersion Plus is a method developed by Finlay MacLeod for the Scottish Gaelic language revitalization. ILI partnered with Mr. MacLeod to introduce this method in New Mexico at ILI’s Annual Symposium series for six years. He has trained ILI key staff on this method and we are honored to carry forth sharing this remarkable legacy in remembrance of Mr. MacLeod who passed away too young in September 2023.
This four-day training addresses the critical need of “producing speakers of the language” with a focus on building fluency in adults so they can have language in the homes for the children. Participants will learn methodologies and strategies that have helped learners to become conversant in a language quickly, if engaged in a full immersion environment. The course is very hands-on with ample time to practice various methodologies.
